"Lullaby" to Start Filming as Soon as Wednesday

The news is in.  "Lullaby" may start into production as soon as Wednesday.  The script is mostly done and should be completed by then.  If you want a role or someone you know would like a role in the film, let us know soon.  More people are welcome.  Also, if you've got a spare 2 Gig+ SD memory card, you'd be willing to bring for on-location filming, we'd be much appreciative.  Let us know if you want to help.

The "Original" Lullaby Trailer

This is the original "Lullaby" trailer made over five years ago.  Here, we have the footage that started it all.  Extra special thanks to Mike Later for taking our crappy footage and making it into a good-looking trailer.  The music used may be reused in the "Lullaby" remake.  You'll notice a lot of the plot for the new "Lullaby" is very similar to the old one.

The music is from Akira Yamaoka and Sony.  I do not own the rights.

Let us know what you think.  What do you expect us to do differently with this new film that we didn't do here?  Anything you liked from the original footage?

"Lullaby" Storyline Revealed!

OK.  I've been putting off revealing the storyline for a bit now.  Mostly because I wanted to know exactly what I wanted to do before I revealed it.  I'm sure those of you participating in the upcoming project "Lullaby" are a bit interested to see what kind of a film you're going to be in.  As the film gets closer to shooting time and my script nears completion, I will reveal a more detailed plot to those of you involved.  Without further ado, here's the story of "Lullaby."

Brian and Jacob Calder are brothers living together since the demise of their parents a year and a half ago.  Brian acts as the caretaker, while Jacob is still recovering from his post traumatic stress disorder, spurred on by being forced to watch the murder of his parents.  The family appears stable minus the occasional hallucinatory episodes Jacob has to endure.  They live together in a small secluded town on the outskirts of human civilization.

One night, upon waking up to Jacob's screaming, Brian rushes downstairs to find his brother missing and that he is bolted into his own house.  Incidentally, his house, unlike before, is rotting and stained with rust and mildew.  Strange humanoid creatures have taken residence in his basement.  In order to find his brother, Brian must escape and survive.

Hope you enjoyed the plot brief.  As I said before, there should be a script coming out in the not-too-far-distant future as well as casting calls.

Anyone want to be a part of the upcoming "Lullaby" film?  Have any opinions?  Speculation?  Let us know what you think.

"Reversing Retribution" and a Noteworthy Blog

Jake Smiley's "Reversing Retribution" to come out in 2011
OK.  So, a couple days ago I had an idea pitched to me by Jake Smiley, author of the website never-fall-writing.  I highly recommend checking it out and bookmarking it.

He's a fairly distinguished writer and author.  I've had the chance to review some of his work and I must say it was quite good and thought-provoking.  As I mentioned earlier, a couple days ago, he came to me with a pitch for a movie (based on an original story he was writing).  I thought I'd take the time to spotlight it and give you a sneak peek at his idea.

Jake tells the thrilling tale following a man and his internal struggles with vengeance.  After watching his wife murdered, he ruthlessly pursues the perpetrator to satisfy his vengeance.  In a crime of passion, his wife's attacker is left dead.  What happens next is perplexing as much as it is dark and cryptic.  He wakes up the next day, with the crime undone, and a second chance to restore his life again.

Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming production as well as the book itself (soon to be completed, I'm told.)

Tell us what you think of Jake's new story.  Is there anything you hope to see?  Any questions you'd like to forward to Jake?  Let us know.

Upcoming Movie Projects

OK.  So, there are some new movies to be released in the upcoming year.  I'm writing down a few of the ideas that are being thrown around or have been pitched to me in recent days.  Some will be used.  Others may be thrown out long before production begins.

"Lullaby"
I don't need to say too much concerning this film as it will be revealed more as time goes on.  Simply put, it's based a lot off of "Silent Hill," "Batman Begins" and "Jacob's Ladder."  This is our first attempt at a horror film as well as a full-length film and the story is currently being written.  It is a direct production of "Mystic Arts."  Filming will begin in late December/early January and the script will be finished by mid-December.

"Brightest at Daybreak"
Playing the game "Half-Life 2" has inspired me to make a science fiction film.  This will not be based on "Half-Life" in any way and current details are still up in the air.  This film will be done sometime after "Lullaby" is finished.  One idea that has been postulated is a human's day to day life in a hostile alien concentration camp.

Untitled Addiction Project
This idea was created via the help of Seylange Films.  It is a thriller/suspense film on the pains of addiction.  The movie is entirely an outward manifestation of the inner struggle accompanying addiction.

"The Beautiful Life of Mr. Fitz"
This is to be a short film hopefully released before "Lullaby."  It will basically be directly proceeding the death of one Mr. Fitz.   The film will be about Mr. Fitz's life and how he helped others to change for the better.  It will basically about the legacy he leaves behind upon his passing.

"Mr. Scrooge Goes Bankrupt"
"Mr. Scrooge Goes Bankrupt" will basically be a comedy sequel to the well known "A Christmas Carol."  In it, Mr. Scrooge foolishly spends all of his money on other people at Christmas time.  He becomes poor and his business goes belly-up.  As a result, Bob Cratchet is forced to work at McDonalds and it all goes downhill from there.  This will likely come out before Christmas-time this year.

Untitled Christmas Production
This film will be worked on primarily by "Seylange Productions," and will have little involvement with "Mystic Arts."  This film, a comedy, will be about a person whose life takes a turn for the worst.  He is rejected by the girl of his dreams, and when his life is at rock bottom, a special Christmas angel will come to cheer him up.  Scheduled to be filmed sometime this December.

Anyway, those are our immediate projects for now.
What do you think of our ideas?  Like them?  Hate them?
Think you got the perfect idea for a film?  Pitch it to us and we'll consider it!

The Man Who Could Not Die

This film was a complete experiment.  I did it to test out the capabilities of Windows Movie Maker along with my camera.  All the script was purely spur of the moment.

This film is about a suicidal person.  Every time he tries to commit suicide, someone else dies in his place of similar circumstances.

Was my experiment successful?  Why or why not?  I'd love to hear your input.  Feel free to comment or critique to your heart's content.  I have a very open-door honesty policy.
